<p>Jack London Square &ldquo;Lights Up for the Holidays&rdquo;, a new tradition begins in Oakland this year, an interactive holiday light spectacular sure to delight revelers throughout the season. On Friday, December 4th, city officials and Miss California will join with a cast of musicians, dancers, and cartoon characters to mark the start of the holidays with the official &ldquo;lighting of the palm trees.&rdquo; Visitors will have a chance to get in on the action by texting their orders for a personalized light show. Celebrate the Season the Celtic Way with Golden Bough
<p>8:00 PM; Amador Theater, 1155 Santa Rita Rd., Pleasanton: Golden Bough&rsquo;s festive family program combines old world carols, Celtic holiday songs and original compositions played on an array of unique acoustic instruments. The audience is encouraged to bring food donations to the theater to benefit The Haven Food Pantry. Collection barrels are located in the lobby. $15, $20, and $25 for adults and $10, $15 and $20 for children and seniors. Christmas at McConaghy House
Every year the McConaghy House is transformed for the holidays. The theme for this years' display will be The Wonderful Musical World of Christmas. Music represents harmony in the home and it would be hard to imagine a holiday season without it. Visit the McConaghy House at 18701 Hesperian Boulevard, next to Kennedy Park. The house is open Saturdays and Sundays, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., and will be decorated for the month of December. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students/seniors/children, and FREE for HAHS members. Rollercoaster Weekend at Playland-Not-at-the-Beach
<p>The king of all amusement park rides is the Rollercoaster, and this weekend we will be showing movies of all the greatest scream machines in the world. You will feel as if you are in the front seat of the tallest, fastest, steepest, scariest rollercoasters ever built. The best part is you are safe in your chair the whole time and don't even need a seat belt or lap bar! In addition we are going to unveil a slideshow on "The Rollercoasters of San Francisco" -- pictures and stories behind long-forgotten but very memorable amusement devices.&nbsp;$10 for children and seniors, and $15 for general admission.&nbsp;10 am to 5 pm 10979 San Pablo Ave El Cerrito</p>
